Many organizations are trying to implement “lean”, but for the ones in manufacturing they focus solely on the manufacturing part of the business. This is a huge mistake because “waste” is everywhere and is costing the organization money. We believe that an organization should begin their “lean” journey in the manufacturing area, if it has one, but quickly move into the support systems and offices when the “lean” journey identifies “waste” in their processes that aren’t allowing them to support the ones that make money for the organization - production.

Kaizen or Continuous Improvement concept is an important “lean” tool for any organization but it is especially valuable to those in a service industry such as insurance, banking, health care, etc.

Office Kaizen is a set of guidelines used to improve office function by eliminating bottlenecks and waste. There are often tremendous opportunities to reduce paperwork, improve communications, speed up delivery of the service or product it provides, improve the cash flow, decrease the number of steps in a process, and overall become more efficient.
